This past weekend, the 315th FRG held their 1st Rummage Sale supported solely from donations from the soldiers.  We had a large turnout of buyers and made a significant amount of money to help us provide for our 315th families.  Soldiers assisted in the set up, moving, and selling of items which really helped out the FRG.  Aside from buyers purchasing rummage sale items, we also received a lot of gratitude, support, and even monetary donations from the community.  A huge thanks to those soldiers who helped and especially those who donated items.  We could not imagine the turnout we had and it was only successful due to all of the support and participation of our soldiers and their families.
This same weekend, we also had a small bake goods and root beer floats sale which many of the soldiers were happy to see.  The bake sale seems to be one of the more requested events that we do and we are always happy to provide.  Thanks again to everyone who participated and we look forward to our next event.  Keep checking Facebook, the website, and the calendar for updates.

Another reminder that during this weekend's drill, the FRG will be holding a rummage sale on Saturday while you guys are out in the field.  Rummage sales are only successful if there are things to sell so be sure to donate items on Friday when you arrive at the drill hall.  Any old items around your home that you would like to get rid of can be donated.  Make sure all items are in good, working condition.  For large items such as couches, TVs, and desks, tomorrow (Wednesday) is the deadline to contact the FRG for pick up.  If you cannot bring it down on Friday, the FRG can pick it up from your home but it has to be scheduled no later than tomorrow.  We look forward to seeing you and having a successful rummage sale.

It has been a while since the last post but a few things have happened.  First, the FRG hopes everyone had a safe and eventful Memorial Day.  There were a lot of parades and military recognition ceremonies going on throughout the country but we hope everyone took time to remember the soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Next, we had our FRG meeting yesterday and we discussed some upcoming events for this June battle assembly as well as August.  We are planning some family day activities for August and also some "welcome home" activities for our recently returned soldiers from both Iraq and Afghanistan.  If you have any suggestions, please contact us at this website or on our email address.

For this upcoming battle assembly, we have already planned a rummage sale for the Saturday of June battle assembly.  For those of you that do not know what this is, it is like a large yard sale where everyone contributes something to sell.  All of the proceeds as always, will benefit our soldiers.  Clean out your garage, attics, and storage units and bring in any working electronics or items in good condition.  We are trying to draw in a good crowd from Upland so that they can contribute to our unit and FRG.  If you need any large or bulky items picked up from your home, please let us know no later than Wednesday, June 20th.  We will schedule a pick up for you on the Friday of battle assembly.  You do not have to do any work, just tell us where to go on the 20th.  Any items that are not sold will be donated to the Salvation Army on Sunday following the rummage sale.  There is no limit on what you can bring, just make sure it can be sold.  Email or contact any FRG member for more details.

Our rummage sale, originally scheduled for April has now been moved to a later date.  We will keep you updated as to when we will actually hold it.  For now, keep collecting your items and be ready for our rummage sale in a few months.

_It was great meeting most of the members of the 315th FRG!  We look forward to working together for our soldiers and are excited to put all of our ideas into action.  We can't wait to meet Mrs. Del Rosario and Eunice Alatorre at our next meeting in March.
As for the bake sale, all of the treats made by the FRG members were delicious and perfect.  The soldiers seemed to appreciate all of the sweets, especially after passing their PT test!  We were able to raise over $350 from the bake sales and company sweatshirt sales.  If you missed an opportunity to buy a company sweatshirt, we are still taking paid pre-orders.  Please contact us through this website if you would like to order one.  The pictures of the bake sale are now posted in the Photo Gallery section of this website.  Our next FRG meeting will be in March to create and plan the FRG Newsletter and prepare for the fundraising event in April.  Thanks to everyone that made today's event so successful.  Keep up the good work and we will see everyone next month!

Another reminder, the 315th FRG will be hosting a bake sale this weekend at the unit.  Stop by to meet the FRG members and have a few baked goods.  There may be some unit sweaters with the unit logo for purchase as well.  100% of the proceeds will be used to benefit the soldiers of the 315th.  FRG Members, bring your best baked goods and get to know the soldiers.  Can't wait to meet everyone, see you there!

It has been a few years since we last had an Army Dining Out and we thought it would be great to put one together this year.  We want to get started on finding a place for a Dining Out event that will take place sometime in September or October.  In the past, the Dining Out has been held at the Disneyland Hotel and more recently, the Doubletree.  We are currently taking any suggestions as to where you would like to have the Dining Out and are shopping for the best prices.  If you have any ideas, please post them in the comments section or send us an email.  We want to book the place as soon as possible and start raising money to make it more affordable for our soldiers.

Do you like to bake and cook?  The 315th FRG is preparing to hold a bake sale during February's 2012 battle assembly.  If you are interested in contributing baked goods or helping to sell them in February, please contact us.  More information to come soon!

During the 2011 Holiday Luncheon, the FRG held a door prize giveaway using baskets of items donated by the detachments.  Soldiers and family collected tickets to be eligible to win the door prize.  We successfully raised $315 through the two day basket fundraiser!  We are currently planning the next fundraiser for sometime next year.  We will keep you posted!
