The Headquarters Detachment was the winner of the First Annual Detachment Olympics.  The FRG had each detachment face off in a volleyball tournament for a spot on the winner's plaque and bragging rights.  The final round was between Detachment A3 (SSG Richard) and the Headquarter Detachment (SSG Castaneda).  It was a grueling battle but HQ came out ahead in the end.  This picture will be placed onto a plaque which they will have their Detachment name engraved into.  The plaque will be posted in the drill hall and updated annually.

This past weekend, the 315th held our annual Family Day event at Seal Beach.  The FRG was available to hold a raffle of some donated items, provide chips donated by the Ontario Airport USO, sell company hats and shirts, and even hold the first annual Detachment Olympics with a volleyball tournament.  We had a large turnout of soldiers and family members which made the event a success.
A very big thanks to FRG Member Sarah Calmes for working with our community partners and getting them to donate all of our raffle items at no cost.  We were able to raffle off items such as tool sets, gift cards, and even a digital picture frame!  The volleyball tournament went well and everyone played their hearts out.  The Headquarters detachment was the winner of the first ever Detachment Olympics and will have their name engraved onto a commemorative plaque that will be posted in the drill hall.
Pictures of the event will be posted soon on the site.  We are busy planning for the next event in September for our veteran soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.  Please join us during our upcoming meeting in September, we would appreciate any help.  Also, feel free to leave comments on this site regarding the Family Day.  We could use any feedback to help us with future events.  Thank you for all of your support!
